Editorial Policy

Our Editorial Standards
BriefGlo is committed to producing clear, independent and evidence-aware informational content.
Our coverage includes UFOs and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), space, astronomy, science, technology, unexplained phenomena and selected developments in government and global affairs.
Some of these subjects involve uncertainty, competing explanations or claims that cannot currently be independently verified.
For that reason, transparency about evidence is a central part of our editorial approach.

Accuracy

We aim to publish information that is accurate at the time of publication.
Before publishing factual claims, we seek supporting information from reliable sources whenever reasonably available.
Sources may include:

  • Government agencies and official documents
  • Scientific organisations
  • Space agencies
  • Universities and research institutions
  • Peer-reviewed research
  • Public records
  • Direct statements from relevant organisations or individuals
  • Established news organisations

When reliable sources disagree, we aim to represent the disagreement rather than presenting one interpretation as settled fact.

UFO and UAP Coverage

UFO and UAP subjects require particular care because an unidentified observation does not necessarily indicate an extraterrestrial or extraordinary origin.
When covering UAP cases, BriefGlo attempts to distinguish between:
Observed: What was reportedly seen, recorded or detected.
Confirmed: Information supported by reliable documentation or authoritative sources.
Explained: Cases for which a credible explanation has been established.
Unresolved: Cases where available information remains insufficient to determine an explanation.
Hypothetical: Proposed explanations that remain speculative or unproven.
We do not treat the terms “UFO” or “UAP” as synonyms for extraterrestrial spacecraft.
They describe observations that have not been identified at a particular stage of investigation.

Extraordinary Claims

Claims involving extraterrestrial intelligence, hidden civilisations, secret technology or other extraordinary explanations may be discussed when they have legitimate informational, historical, scientific or public-interest relevance.
However, the existence of a claim does not establish its truth.
Where appropriate, articles should make clear:

  • Who made the claim
  • What evidence has been presented
  • Whether the evidence can be independently verified
  • What alternative explanations exist
  • What remains unknown

Headlines may highlight interesting questions, but the article itself should accurately represent the available evidence.

Scientific Topics

For science, astronomy and space coverage, BriefGlo prioritises information from recognised scientific organisations, research institutions, academic publications and relevant experts.
Scientific hypotheses are presented as hypotheses unless sufficient evidence exists to describe them otherwise.
We aim to distinguish scientific consensus from emerging research and speculation.

Developing Stories

Information can change rapidly during developing events.
Early reports may be incomplete or incorrect.
Articles covering developing stories may therefore be updated as additional evidence, official statements or reliable reporting becomes available.
Publication speed should not take priority over reasonable verification.

Opinion and Analysis

When an article includes interpretation or analysis, it should be distinguishable from established factual information.
BriefGlo does not present personal belief as evidence.
Readers should be able to understand where documented information ends and interpretation begins.

Political and Government Coverage

BriefGlo may cover governments, public institutions and political developments when they are relevant to our subjects or provide useful public information.
Such coverage aims to explain events and institutions rather than promote political parties, candidates or ideological positions.

Originality

BriefGlo produces original articles based on research and analysis.
Information obtained from other publications or sources is rewritten, contextualised and attributed where appropriate.
We do not intentionally reproduce substantial portions of copyrighted material without permission.

Artificial Intelligence and Editorial Responsibility

Digital and AI-assisted tools may be used to support research, organisation, language editing or other parts of the publishing process.
Regardless of the tools used, BriefGlo remains responsible for the content it publishes.
Important factual claims should be checked against appropriate sources rather than relying solely on automated systems.

Corrections

If a significant factual error is identified, we aim to correct it as soon as reasonably possible.
Articles may also be updated when new information materially changes the understanding of a subject.
Readers who believe an article contains an error can contact BriefGlo through our Contact Us page.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently.
Advertising, sponsorships or other commercial relationships, where applicable, do not determine the factual conclusions of our articles.
Our priority is to provide readers with useful information while clearly distinguishing evidence from uncertainty and speculation.
